One employer, two hiring campaigns, two published salary figures
APR, the South Korean company behind beauty brands including Medicube, advertised a broad entry-level recruitment drive in September 2026. Applications closed on September 20. Across eight functional groups and 32 roles, the company sought people in marketing, overseas sales, design, legal, software, customer experience and manufacturing. Its three-month conversion-track internship paid ₩2.5 million per month before tax, with ₩45 million in annual contractual pay for a graduate hired permanently.
A separate marketing recruitment campaign opened on November 2 and is scheduled to close at 23:59 on November 22. It covers entry-level and experienced hires in domestic and international marketing. For graduate entrants, the published terms are a three-month conversion-track internship at ₩3 million per month and ₩50 million annually if converted to permanent employment. Performance bonuses are separate, and the listed workplace is APR's headquarters in Jamsil, Seoul.
The advertised difference is ₩5 million in annual salary, or roughly 11.1%, and ₩500,000 in monthly internship pay, or 20%. These percentages compare the terms of two different campaigns. They do not demonstrate that APR raised every new hire's salary by the same amount.
A third posting shows why 'APR's starting salary' is not one universal number
An Aprilskin online-marketing conversion-track internship posting dated October 2 advertises ₩2.5 million per month and approximately ₩45 million annually on conversion to a permanent position. The individual posting gives a December 1 deadline. It is separate from the November special marketing campaign.
That live distinction matters more than the headline arithmetic. APR has advertised different terms for different recruitment routes within a relatively short period. A campaign-specific offer should not be generalized to all marketing jobs, all company brands or all graduate hires.
APR has not publicly established in these notices whether the difference reflects skills premiums, separate recruitment budgets or another internal policy. Such explanations remain hypotheses. An applicant's first reference point should be the detailed terms on the specific job advertisement, not a single 'APR starting salary' number found in search results.
The new signal is not overseas hiring, but named sales channels
APR's September intake already included international marketing across the United States, Europe, Japan and other Asian markets. It would be inaccurate to suggest the company began recruiting international marketers only in November. The change is one of emphasis and specificity.
In November, the US and European openings explicitly name Amazon marketplace merchandising, TikTok Shop marketing, influencer public relations and content/performance marketing. Japan-oriented influencer marketing is listed separately. Domestic influencer and content marketing positions are also included. The company is placing individual platforms and execution disciplines directly into the role list.
An Amazon merchant's operating questions are not identical to those facing a TikTok Shop content team or an influencer partnership specialist. The job titles suggest greater differentiation by route to market. They do not, by themselves, prove a formal internal reorganization or a newly announced departmental structure.
The 94% overseas revenue figure supplies the commercial context
In its provisional third-quarter 2026 consolidated results, released October 30, APR reported ₩773.1 billion in revenue and ₩160.6 billion in operating profit. Overseas sales reached ₩722.9 billion, approximately 94% of total revenue and 135% above the year-earlier figure. North America represented 46% of total sales and Europe 23%, together accounting for 69%.
APR has expanded through online marketplaces such as Amazon and TikTok Shop while also extending its US retail distribution to chains including Target, Walmart and Costco. As international revenue grows, a marketing team may need more than broad regional knowledge: marketplace operations, product assortment, creative testing, promotions and the measurement of commercial outcomes differ by channel.
That is a way to interpret the November positions against reported sales geography, not evidence that APR has disclosed the internal reason for its pay offers. Revenue growth also should not be confused with guaranteed margin expansion. Currency effects and accounting treatment weighed on third-quarter profitability against market expectations, even as year-on-year sales and operating profit rose.
The global applicant track does not mean the roles are based overseas
The special campaign includes a dedicated route for graduates or expected graduates of overseas universities and for foreign nationals. Foreign applicants must have an eligible F-series visa or meet requirements to apply for a visa permitting employment. These conditions distinguish the applicant track, not a separate international employment contract.
The posted work location is APR's Jamsil headquarters in Seoul, rather than an American or European office. Candidates should distinguish the market a role serves from the country in which the employee will actually work. This matters when evaluating relocation, living costs, work authorization and language expectations.
Separate outreach to global applicants may increase access to market and cultural experience, but the notice does not verify future overseas assignments, visa sponsorship beyond the stated eligibility requirement, or nationality-specific hiring targets. Those claims should not be inferred.
Assessment processes must also be compared at the campaign level
November's graduate process is described as document screening, an assignment and interview stage, then entry as a three-month intern followed by assessment for possible permanent conversion. An online organizational-fit assessment is administered during the interview process. Experienced applicants have a separate compensation-discussion stage and a three-month probationary period with no stated pay reduction.
The September recruitment notice listed an organizational-fit test and interviews, followed by assignments for some roles. Although the public sequence is expressed differently, this does not prove that APR introduced assignments for the first time across its entire company, or replaced every assessment process.
Neither notice provides a universal permanent-conversion rate, the scoring rubric for an assignment or a guaranteed offer after the internship. It is safer to prepare for the specific campaign and position than to treat a company-wide 'APR interview process' as a timeless rule.
What should Amazon and TikTok Shop applicants demonstrate?
For an Amazon merchandising role, a credible example might connect product selection, pricing, promotional execution and operating metrics. For TikTok Shop, a more relevant example could trace how short-form creative exposure leads toward measurable shopping behavior. These are ways of interpreting the advertised work, not additional mandatory portfolio requirements.
Influencer and public-relations roles involve assessing creator fit and audience engagement, while performance-marketing roles reward the ability to learn from testing rather than merely publish content. Candidates with university projects or independently managed channels can distinguish what they personally did, what changed and what remains uncertain.
A long list of tools used is not the same as evidence that someone can run a commercial channel. The useful preparation question is: which part of the work described in this exact posting have I already done, and how clearly can I substantiate it?
The decision is about the particular vacancy, not a company-wide salary headline
September's broad recruitment and November's focused marketing campaign are different hiring instruments. The November notice offers ₩50 million in graduate contractual salary upon permanent conversion, while a separate Aprilskin marketing posting still cites approximately ₩45 million. Neither figure should silently replace the other.
The more durable observation is that an export-led company is naming distinct commercial capabilities—Amazon merchandising, TikTok Shop, creator marketing—inside its recruitment. APR's overseas revenue mix gives this distinction context, but a full explanation of pay-setting and organizational redesign remains undisclosed.
The November campaign is scheduled to close on November 22 at 23:59 Korea time. Prospective applicants should re-check the official APR careers site for each role's eligibility, internship contract, conversion conditions and assessment process. Employers and readers comparing talent markets should make the same distinction between company, campaign, channel and contractual offer.
BANSEOG VIEW
BANSEOG VIEW | A starting salary is not a single company-wide fact
APR's ₩45 million September graduate package and ₩50 million November marketing package are published terms for different recruitment campaigns. The difference does not establish a blanket pay rise.
An October Aprilskin marketing advertisement still cites approximately ₩45 million, while November's campaign separately identifies Amazon, TikTok Shop and creator-led disciplines. The company's 94% overseas revenue share helps explain why these commercial channels are strategically meaningful, without proving its internal salary policy.
Applicants should judge their individual job notice and the conditions of permanent conversion. For companies, the value of recruitment data lies in the exact capability and market being targeted, not merely the employer name or advertised pay.
