2025: broad General Finance. 2026: choose a specialist Track at application

Hana Bank’s H2 2025 graduate recruitment was organized into General Finance, ICT, Digital/AI and Regional Talent. General Finance itself covered areas such as financial business, pensions and trusts, global business, risk and treasury, and investment banking.

In H2 2026, Hana Bank introduced HanAXpert. Applicants select a specialist Track covering IB/credit review/risk in Corporate Finance, pensions/trusts/wealth management in Personal Finance, Treasury/FX, Global, or AI/Data Finance.

The underlying banking functions did not suddenly appear within a year. What changed is the entry structure: functions that were previously grouped under broader recruitment categories are now presented as directions an applicant must choose earlier.

The shift is not ‘hire finished experts’ — it is ‘ask for direction earlier’

The HanAXpert name can sound as if the bank is looking for graduates who are already complete specialists. The published recruitment route says otherwise: new hires may spend an initial period in branches and later build a specialist career in relevant head-office units or overseas locations based on the chosen Track, Career Development Program (CDP) and workforce needs.

Choosing a Track at application therefore should not be read as an immediate fixed placement into that specialty. It is closer to choosing a direction first, then building toward it through frontline experience and career development.

The meaningful change is not that graduates must arrive with experienced-hire proficiency. It is that they are asked earlier to explain what kind of specialist they intend to become.

The application question makes the new expectation explicit

The H2 2026 application asks candidates which specialist Track they selected, why they chose it and how they plan to develop that expertise at Hana Bank.

That makes ‘Why Hana Bank?’ only half of the answer. Applicants also need to answer ‘Why Corporate Finance?’, ‘Why Treasury/FX?’ or ‘Why AI/Data Finance?’ and connect that choice to the problems they want to work on inside the bank.

The evidence does not have to be a long employment history. A major, project, certification, internship, customer-facing experience, or a concrete example of using data to solve a problem can provide a stronger basis for the selected Track.

Before the deadline, check the evidence behind the Track

Applications for H2 2026 close at 18:00 on September 28. At this stage, polishing the prose matters less than checking whether the chosen Track is actually supported by the candidate’s experience.

Three checks are useful: can you name at least one concrete experience connected to the Track; can you explain what you did and learned rather than just saying you are interested; and can you show how that experience could develop into a role at Hana Bank?

For AI/Data Finance, saying that AI is important is weaker than showing a case where data was used to define, analyze or automate a real problem. For Corporate Finance, evidence tied to company or industry analysis, finance, credit or risk is more directly relevant.

One bank does not define the market, but it changes how applicants can read a job notice

One Hana Bank recruitment cycle is not enough to claim that the entire banking sector has moved in the same direction. What the 2025 and 2026 public notices do show is that Hana Bank has moved the choice of specialist direction earlier in its graduate hiring process.

For applicants, that changes a practical reading order. After asking ‘Which bank do I want to join?’, ask one more question: ‘Which problem inside that bank do I want to keep solving?’

HanAXpert now asks that second question in the application rather than leaving it entirely for after joining.

BANSEOG VIEW | The timing of specialization has moved forward

In 2025, multiple finance functions sat inside a broad General Finance recruitment category. In 2026, HanAXpert asks candidates to choose a professional direction directly at application.

That does not make new graduates finished specialists. Branch experience and CDP remain part of the path toward later specialist roles.

The preparation task is therefore more specific: connect ‘Why this bank?’ and ‘Why this Track?’ to evidence from your own experience.

Banseog View — direction is chosen earlier, expertise is still built over time

Compared with 2025’s broad categories, HanAXpert moves specialist Track selection to the application stage.

Track selection does not mean an immediate fixed specialist placement; branch experience and CDP remain part of the career path.

Applicants need evidence that supports both ‘Why Hana Bank?’ and ‘Why this Track?’.

This article compares public H2 2025 and H2 2026 recruitment materials. Selecting a HanAXpert Track is not treated as an immediate fixed placement into a specialist department. The public route still includes branch experience, CDP and workforce considerations before later specialist career moves. One Hana Bank case is not generalized into a confirmed banking-sector-wide shift.
