onsemi agrees to acquire Synaptics in an all-stock transaction
onsemi and Synaptics entered a definitive agreement under which onsemi would acquire Synaptics in an all-stock transaction valued at about $7 billion enterprise value.
Why it matters
The agreement would broaden onsemi from power and sensing into connected compute and control, but at announcement the acquisition was still pending Synaptics stockholder approval, regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with closing expected in mid-2027.
