AMD and Microsoft expand their partnership around Helios, EPYC and Pensando on Azure
AMD announced an expanded Microsoft partnership in which Azure will deploy AMD Helios rackscale systems, new EPYC-powered VMs and Pensando networking for AI infrastructure.
Why it matters
The agreement extends AMD's role inside Azure across GPUs, CPUs and networking rather than a single component category, but Helios was scheduled to begin shipping to customers including Microsoft in the second half of 2026, so the announcement should not be read as proof that the full Azure deployment was already operational on July 20.
