Kioxia and Sandisk plan more than $31 billion of Japan memory investment
Kioxia and Sandisk announced anticipated investments of more than $31 billion in Japan through 2032, contingent on government support, including continued infrastructure expansion at the Yokkaichi and Kitakami plants.
Why it matters
The plan would extend the companies' multi-year joint manufacturing investment in Japan and add infrastructure for future flash-memory supply, but the announced amount is a through-2032 investment plan rather than capacity already built today.
