AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs selected to power Europe’s LUMI-AI supercomputer
AMD announced that the LUMI-AI supercomputer at CSC in Kajaani, Finland will use AMD Instinct MI430X GPUs and 6th Gen AMD EPYC 256-core processors to expand European AI and HPC capacity.
Why it matters
CSC and AMD say LUMI-AI is expected to provide about ten times the AI capacity and nearly twice the HPC capability of the current LUMI system. AMD's selection therefore places its compute silicon at the core of a major new European AI and HPC installation.
