The Syntec agreement is described as moving from discussing needs to choosing models and running a proof of concept. As agreements grow, deciding what to verify and by what standard may become important.

BANSEOG OUTLOOK
SMEC signs partners for robots and controllers, but lays the factory network under its own license
SMEC became independent from Samsung Heavy Industries' machine tool division in 1999 and builds machining centers and CNC lathes. It is also a telecom equipment company that has supplied carrier core networks since 2005. Whenever automation needed a new layer, it reached out to a partner: cobots through an agreement with a robot specialist, measurement and design software with Hexagon in 2024, and in 2026 robots with Puloon Technology, drive modules with VDS and controls with Taiwan's Syntec. Even the 2025 purchase of Hyundai WIA's machine tool business was made alongside a private equity firm, for a 34.8% stake. The factory network was different. SMEC obtained an E-um 5G carrier license in January 2025 and took over Sejong Telecom's private 5G business that July. Banseog reads the habit this way: the machine and the network stay in its own hands, and the hands and brains in between are shared with others. That is why Banseog sees people who make different companies' equipment work as one cell as the next talent challenge.
- When a cell with partner equipment has a problem, which team responds first?
- Which agreements have become real products and which are still being verified?
- Is there work where the machine and communications teams share one project?
Once cells combining robots, machine tools and networks are sold, a fault may fall on the border between partners. The field skill of finding causes across those borders may grow.
The gas turbine blade repair project covers continuous automation from scanning to deposition and machining. Whether that experience moves into aerospace and defense precision machining may be the next stage. These are conditional stages, not confirmed dates or hiring plans.
Current hiring comes from the existing verified data pipeline. This is a conditional talent and organization outlook, not a company hiring plan, personal-fit assessment or hiring-probability forecast. · 2026-11-01
FUTURE TALENT SHIFT
How responsibilities may expand
Follow how responsibility for one machine tool extends to a whole cell of equipment from several companies. Check individual postings for actual duties and qualifications.
CAREER LENS
Experience running different companies' equipment as one
Beyond depth in one field, look for times you stayed with a problem until it ended, even when the equipment was not yours. Adjacent experience suggests connections, not eligibility or a personal-fit verdict.
Experience to show in your career history
Combining a machine tool and a robot into one working cell
Matching communications between controllers from different makers
Designing a wireless network in a factory or resolving its faults
Setting machining conditions for difficult materials such as semiconductor parts
Dividing responsibility with a partner and finishing delivery
Collecting equipment data so that operating condition could be judged
Where adjacent experience can lead
Combining equipment into lines can connect to the cell business.
Finding fault causes in the field can underpin cell responsibility.
Network design and fault response can connect to factory private networks.
Machining materials such as ceramics and quartz is the connection.
Experience handling signals between pieces of equipment.
Turning machining data into condition diagnosis.
Questions before joining
- When a cell with partner equipment has a problem, which team responds first?
- Which agreements have become real products and which are still being verified?
- Is there work where the machine and communications teams share one project?
- Does this role sit in machine tools, automation cells or private networks, and where is it based?
- Who decides when to follow a partner's technology and when to use the company's own, and by what standard?

Work connected across locations
These interpretations use publicly reported locations and operations. They do not describe regional hiring plans or current staffing.
This is the headquarters address on the official site. It reads as where machine tools and automation cells meet, with no estimate of team structure or size.
A public company profile lists it as a production location. It reads as one pillar of machine production; check postings for actual placement.
The company has presented shipyard, construction and factory cases and has described a safety system at a Daejeon construction site. This reads as the stage where network skills grow outside machines.
A project with seven institutions including Doosan Enerbility, with total funding of 7.13 billion won. It reads as where unmanned process experience builds, without presuming results.
