BANSEOG OUTLOOK
Curexo's surgical robot crosses each border holding the hand of a local orthopedic company
In 2020 Curexo signed a deal to export CUVIS-joint with Meril, an Indian implant maker. In 2022 it gave distribution rights to Think Surgical in the US, and in 2023 it signed an exclusive sales contract with Kyocera in Japan. In 2026 it said it had partnered with the Italian orthopedic company Permedica. Year after year the structure repeats: Curexo builds the robot and teaches its use, and a company of that country does the selling at the hospital door. In 2024 it decided to set up an Indian subsidiary, which became a base for direct supply and service in 2026. Banseog reads its overseas business as depending less on selling robots than on making sure surgeon skill and service stay in place even when partners change.
- In this country, is the person training surgeons employed by Curexo or by the partner?
- If a partner changes, where do hospital usage records and training materials remain?
- Does this role cover partner-led markets or direct supply markets?
The Indian subsidiary has been described as a base for supplying equipment and consumables and supporting service. If this approach spreads, deciding what to leave to partners and what to do directly may become a bigger task.
CUVIS-joint has moved from knee to hip, and shoulder surgery is planned. As procedures are added, the courses run with partners to train surgeons may need to be redesigned. These are conditional stages, not confirmed dates or hiring plans.
