BANSEOG OUTLOOK
City halls do not buy software, so Autonomous A2Z answers for the vehicle too
Autonomous A2Z was founded in 2018 by former Hyundai Motor autonomous driving engineers. In 2022 it said it would build vehicles itself, in September 2023 it obtained a vehicle manufacturer certification from Korea's transport ministry, and in 2025 it brought out ROii, an 11-seat shuttle with no driver's seat aimed at local governments and urban transport operators. Government and municipal projects and trials drove the rise in its 2025 revenue to 16 billion won, and as of August 2026 it works in 13 Korean cities and provinces with temporary permits for 91 vehicles. Its contract with the UAE's Space42 that month bundled 19 vehicles with a control system, a remote driving cockpit and ride-hailing app integration. Banseog reads the company's habit as taking on the vehicle and control as well, because public customers buy a whole running service, not a piece of software. That is why Banseog sees tying each city's different conditions into one delivery standard as the next talent challenge.
- When starting a new city, how do you track what is reused and what must be done afresh?
- In vehicle production, where does the company's scope end and partners' begin?
- When municipal project dates and product development dates collide, what is decided first?
In April 2026 it signed an agreement with KGM and KGM Commercial on Level 4 electric bus vehicles and key parts. If a structure where it leads system integration and partners provide the production base becomes concrete, managing that boundary may grow as work.
In the UAE, trial runs in Abu Dhabi in the second half of 2026 and use for demand-responsive transport and tourist shuttles in 2027 have been reported. Keeping local vehicle conversion and control to the same standard from a distance may become important. These are conditional stages, not confirmed dates or hiring plans.

Managing small-batch vehicle or equipment production and supplier quality

Experience in operating environments with defined safety procedures.
Handling manufacturer-level quality and supply chains.
