BANSEOG OUTLOOK
The CEO carries two business cards. So where is the door that decides whether your code ships?
Since January 2026 Park Min-woo has served as both head of the Hyundai Motor and Kia AVP Division and CEO of 42dot. 42dot is co-developing Atria AI with the AVP Division and plans to bring out a Level 2++ vehicle in the second half of 2029. In July it was reported that about 200 AVP Division developers moved to the Namyang R&D Center and that later hires would go to validation and production work. Experienced hiring of about 200 people within the year runs at the same time. Banseog reads this company's software as reaching the car through several decision stages inside the group rather than through a market bid. So Banseog sees knowing the order of those stages, more than the boundaries between companies, as the next talent challenge.
- Which organization gives final approval to this role's work: 42dot, the AVP Division or the Namyang R&D Center?
- Are the handover criteria written down for when a research model moves to on-road testing and production?
- When organizations disagree, who decides, and at what stage?
As the on-road testing announced for late this year through early next year gets under way, explaining a change through real driving differences rather than training metrics may be the first thing asked.
If validation and production staff sit in another organization, designing when and with what evidence to hand over work made at 42dot may become important.
As the target nears, tying the change history of models, data and vehicle software into the language of production decisions may matter more. These are conditional stages, not confirmed dates or hiring plans.
Current hiring comes from the existing verified data pipeline. This is a conditional talent and organization outlook, not a company hiring plan, personal-fit assessment or hiring-probability forecast. · 2026-11-01
FUTURE TALENT SHIFT
How responsibilities may expand
Follow the responsibility that runs until your work leaves your own team and reaches the car. Check individual postings for actual duties and qualifications.
CAREER LENS
Experience getting your code past pass criteria set outside your team
Look for work you carried to the point where another team, another customer or another certifier judged whether it passed. Adjacent experience suggests connections, not eligibility or a personal-fit verdict.
Experience to show in your career history
Moving a research model into on-road tests and explaining the difference with numbers and video
Handing over software by meeting the criteria of a validation team outside your own group
Keeping a schedule by working out the decision path inside a large organization
Adjusting the impact of a model change together with vehicle platform owners
Putting software into a production vehicle and managing its change history
Finding problems in driving data and connecting them to training and reproduction tests
Where adjacent experience can lead
Training large models is a strength, and it helps to show a case where another team validated your results by its own criteria.
Knowing the stages and pass criteria of vehicle development can lead to roles linking research and production.
Going through automaker acceptance reviews connects to understanding production decisions inside the group.
Real-time communication and system architecture experience can lead to work linking models and vehicles.
Tracing where data came from and how it changed connects to managing the basis for decisions.
Keeping schedules by bringing together decisions from several entities and departments.

- Is this role evaluated on model metrics, on-road results or what reaches production?
- Can I learn in advance which teams at the AVP Division or Namyang I would work with after joining?
PLACE × TALENT INTELLIGENCE
Work connected across locations
These interpretations use publicly stated sites and activities. They do not describe regional hiring plans or current staffing.
The headquarters hosted the autonomous-driving media day in September 2026. It is read as where research results face their first decision, with no assumption about team placement.
42dot says it runs about 40 IONIQ 5-based collection vehicles and about 20 IONIQ 6-based test vehicles. They are read as a moving site where the evidence for the next organization is made.
The company says a robotics middleware expert joined here as a principal research fellow. It is read as a point that connects to Pangyo's decision path with a time lag, with no assumption about local team size.
About 200 AVP Division developers were reported to have moved to the Namyang R&D Center in July 2026. This is read as a junction where decisions pass, more than a specific location. Internal role division remains a question to verify.
