BANSEOG OUTLOOK

Put the driver's seat in the building, and even one scratch on a new car becomes the software company's homework

Seoul Robotics' Level 5 Control Tower places self-driving capability in the factory's infrastructure rather than in the car. According to the company's blog, about 1,000 vehicles a day have moved this way at BMW's Dingolfing plant since 2022, and in September 2025 the company said it won a project to make finished-vehicle movement at a Nissan Group factory driverless. These cars are new cars not yet delivered to customers. Banseog reads the care that skilled drivers used to provide as shifting to the system on stretches with no person present. So what the company can prove when something goes wrong, and how, matters as much as perception performance, and Banseog sees this as the next talent challenge.

Banseog analysis
The next company challengeAgree in advance, site by site, on the boundaries of responsibility among the factory, the automaker, the facility operator and the software company; design records that can explain what the system saw and why it moved as it did, even after an accident; and apply the same standards to city projects with many parties.
Questions before joining
  1. If a vehicle is damaged in a factory, what procedure is followed to confirm the cause and judge responsibility?
  2. How long are the system's decision records kept, and how are they shared with customers?
  3. Who agrees on safety standards at each site, and with which teams?
Repeating factory projectsSafety promised again for each vehicle model

If overseas factory projects continue, a procedure for quickly agreeing on safety standards and the scope of responsibility, fitted to each factory's vehicle models and routes, may become important.

Stretches outside the factoryRecords at the point where the manager changes

If finished-vehicle movement extends to ports and logistics hubs, the manager may differ by stretch, so records that hand over the vehicle's condition and the system's decisions may become important.

City infrastructure projectsA space with many parties to answer to

When citizens, institutions and other companies' robots share one space, as in the Wonju project, to whom and how the system's records are explained may become a challenge. These are conditional stages, not confirmed dates or hiring plans.

CAREER LENS

Experience drawing the line of responsibility before an accident happens

Beyond running a system on site, look for work where you prepared so that the cause and responsibility could be explained when a problem came up. Adjacent experience suggests connections, not eligibility or a personal-fit verdict.

Experience to show in your career history

✓

Installing and running autonomous systems at automotive plants or logistics sites

✓

Reconstructing an accident or abnormal event from records and explaining the cause

✓

Carrying out risk assessment together with a customer's safety and quality teams

✓

Linking vehicle electrical and control systems with outside systems

✓

Agreeing the scope of each role in writing on a project with several companies

✓

Managing installation quality and upkeep standards for field sensors

Where adjacent experience can lead

Automaker plant logistics and quality

The connection is knowing quality standards and movement procedures for vehicles before shipment.

Industrial safety and functional safety

Experience with risk assessment and safety documents for unmanned equipment.

Vehicle electronics and diagnostics

Look at experience with vehicle signals and control systems.

Lidar and 3D perception

Experience with the perception performance of sensors placed in infrastructure.

Smart city and traffic systems

Delivery work with public institutions and several operators can connect to city projects.

Overseas equipment project management

Experience running installation and operational handover at overseas plants.

Questions before joining

  1. If a vehicle is damaged in a factory, what procedure is followed to confirm the cause and judge responsibility?
  2. How long are the system's decision records kept, and how are they shared with customers?
  3. Who agrees on safety standards at each site, and with which teams?
  4. Does this role belong to factory projects or city projects?
  5. How much time does this role spend at overseas factory sites?

Banseog analysis
Dingolfing, GermanyThe reference point for driverless factory movement

According to the company's blog, the system has been used at the BMW plant since 2022, and about 1,000 pre-shipment vehicles a day move this way. It reads as the setting where responsibility standards for factory projects have built up, without presuming local headcount.

Vehicle integrationFactory deploymentOverseas customer work
Nissan Group factory, JapanFrom factory to port and logistics hub

A project to make finished-vehicle movement from the factory to ports and logistics hubs driverless. It reads as a challenge on stretches where the manager changes, without presuming schedules or results.

Wonju K-AI City, GangwonA city with many parties to answer to

In this KRW 198.1 billion AI-focused pilot city project, the company said it will handle the master digital twin and integrated control of mixed robots. It reads as a setting where records must be explained to many parties.

KINTEX, GoyangUnveiling a public road safety product

At World CITYTech Expo in October 2026 the company showed a lidar system for crosswalks without traffic lights. The published figures are the company's own, and the exhibition space reads only as a public showing, not a working base.

Infrastructure installation → driverless vehicle movement → decision records → agreement on scope of responsibility → standards for the next factory and city

WATCH NEXT

How to test this outlook

If the weight of the business moves toward in-vehicle devices, or the scope of responsibility settles into standard contracts, revise this reading to prioritize technology development over site-by-site agreement.

Banseog analysis
01How are the stretches outside the factory operated in the Nissan project?
02How do standards or regulations for driverless movement at automaker plants take shape?
03How does the company disclose accident records or safety validation?
04Do participants' roles in the Wonju project become concrete?
05How are teams divided between factory projects and city projects?
