BANSEOG OUTLOOK

What can a robot company sell to a factory that will not buy a new robot?

In March 2025 Yujin Robot presented a package that turns aging guided vehicles and manual forklifts into autonomous equipment, made of four parts: 3D LiDAR, location software, a navigation controller and a safety module. In May 2026 it decided on a share issue of about 17.3 billion won to an investment arm of its largest shareholder, Germany's Miele Group, and said it would speed up this retrofit business. Banseog reads the customer here as a factory that does not want to throw away working equipment, rather than one buying a new robot. If so, the robot's body belongs to the customer, and what Yujin takes on is the movement of a machine it did not build. Drawing the line of safety and responsibility on other people's machines is the next talent challenge.

Banseog analysis
The next company challengeFit one package onto machines of many makers and ages while being able to explain the safety evidence and scope of responsibility after each conversion, and build site procedures for markets such as Europe where certification comes first.
Questions before joining
  1. If a converted machine has a problem, how is responsibility divided between Yujin Robot, the customer and the equipment maker?
  2. Does this role sit in new robots, retrofit packages or factory assembly automation?
  3. When a model not yet handled comes in, what is checked first?
More retrofit casesMachines to be read again for each model

Manual forklifts and carts can differ in structure and control by maker and age. As cases build up, a standard procedure for what to check on a new model may become important.

Progress in EuropeA door certification must open first

The company says its retrofit technology was validated in environments including Europe, and it will also use the funds for local marketing overseas. Handling local safety standards at the design stage may become important.

Working robotsTasks mounted on a moving body

At 2026 shows the company presented mobile robots with arms for wafer handling and AI quality inspection. Designing responsibility for movement and work together may become a challenge. These are conditional stages, not confirmed dates or hiring plans.

FUTURE TALENT SHIFT

How responsibilities may expand

Follow the responsibility from building your own robot to answering for someone else's machine. Check individual postings for actual duties and qualifications.

Banseog analysis
Autonomous driving software
Improving driving on in-house robots such as GoCart→Designing settings that fit third-party machines with different weight, steering and braking
Mechanical and electrical design
Designing in-house robot structures→Reading existing machines and designing how the package is installed
Functional safety and certification
Meeting safety standards for own products→Designing safety evidence and responsibility boundaries for converted machines
Sensor development
Improving 3D LiDAR performance→Setting quality criteria for sites with different dust, vibration and mounting
Field engineering
Installing robots at customers→Diagnosing unfamiliar machines first and training partners
Technical sales
Explaining product specifications→Judging retrofit scope and economics from the customer's existing equipment list

CAREER LENS

Taking apart a machine you did not build, and answering for it

Look for machines you understood and changed, as much as new products you designed. Adjacent experience suggests connections, not eligibility or a personal-fit verdict.

Experience to show in your career history

✓

Analyzing and changing how existing equipment or vehicles are controlled

✓

Working on forklift or industrial vehicle electronics

✓

Connecting third-party equipment into a system

✓

Personally handling machinery safety certification or risk assessment

✓

Tuning sensors for site dust, vibration and floors

✓

Training partner or customer technicians

Where adjacent experience can lead

Forklift and industrial vehicle electronics

Experience with drive, brake and steering signals can connect to retrofit design.

Machinery safety and certification

Building risk assessments and certification evidence is a useful connection.

LiDAR and sensor development

Experience linking sensor quality to installation conditions.

Factory equipment maintenance

Understanding the faults and structure of older equipment can connect to site diagnosis.

Logistics automation delivery

Fitting guided vehicles or logistics equipment to customer sites.

European industrial sales

Knowing local safety standards and buying processes.

  4. Is European site work handled by headquarters or by local partners?
  5. Is there a real channel for technical or site exchange with Miele, the largest shareholder?

WATCH NEXT

How to test this outlook

If customers clearly favor new robots over retrofits, prioritize finished product development over retrofit safety capability.
