Binggrae — An ice cream leader reshaping itself as one company after a merger
- Where it stands now
- Integration — absorbing Haitai Ice Cream and combining purchasing, logistics and products into one system
In 2025, consolidated revenue was KRW 1.4896 trillion (+1.8%) and operating profit KRW 88.4 billion (−32.7%).
Q2 2026 revenue was KRW 442.1 billion (+7.9%) and operating profit KRW 69.7 billion (+159.9%). The company cited early hot weather and strong overseas exports.
It has overseas subsidiaries in the US, China and Vietnam and exports products such as 'Melona' and 'Bungeo Ssamanco' to about 30 countries. Frozen product exports grew from KRW 36.5 billion in 2020 to KRW 82.9 billion in 2024.
- Three decisions within a year
- Merger with Haitai Ice Cream: approved by the board in January 2026 and completed on April 1. The aim is to remove organizational overlap and widen overseas exports and e-commerce channels.
- Cleaning up the profit structure: it said it is pruning low-margin products and cutting selling and administrative expenses, along with operational efficiencies from the merger.
- Targeting Europe: to meet European regulations on imported dairy products, it separately developed and exports a plant-based Melona without milk ingredients, and it took part in SIAL Paris 2026 in October 2026.
- Three people it will look for
- Integrated SCM and purchasing leader — combining the two companies' purchasing and logistics into one system
- Overseas sales and channel staff — widening distribution channels in the US and Europe and adapting products locally
- Product portfolio and brand managers — pruning low-margin products and putting weight behind the brands to keep
- For HR
- Other large food companies growing overseas exports are also looking for the same overseas sales and SCM people. Now, after the first peak season since the merger, is a good time to bring in people to run the integrated system.
- For job seekers
- Experience in purchasing, logistics or product rationalization after combining two organizations, or opening overseas channels for frozen or dairy products, is worth the most at this company right now.
