Pulmuone Foods — taking its business beyond the refrigerator and across the sea
- Where it stands now
- Expansion — shelf-stable convenience foods and overseas tofu settling in as new growth pillars
On a consolidated basis, Pulmuone (the holding company) posted 2025 revenue of KRW 3.3802 trillion (+5.2%) and operating profit of KRW 93.2 billion (+1.5%); in the first half of 2026 it recorded revenue of KRW 1.7439 trillion (+6.8%) and operating profit of KRW 43.7 billion (+41.6%).
Pulmuone Foods' shelf-stable product sales in the first half of 2026 rose 25.5% year on year to a record high, and online channel sales within that rose 51.9%.
Korea's National Pension Service public workplace data shows 717 people on the pension register in August 2026, down 50 (6.5%) from October 2025. Over that period 95 people joined and 141 left as staff were redeployed.
- Three decisions within a year
- Expanding the US tofu plant: on March 11, 2026 (local time) the company completed the expansion of its plant in Ayer, Massachusetts. Adding 6,039 m² brought the total to 18,580 m²; hourly output rose from 4,000 to 9,000 blocks and annual capacity to more than 100 million blocks.
- Entering Europe: a Dutch subsidiary was set up in December 2025, and part of the added output from the US plant will be used to supply Europe.
- Expanding the shelf-stable portfolio: centered on beverages, Korean convenience meals (soups, stews and sauces) and noodles, the share of shelf-stable products rose from about 7% in the first half of 2024 to 13% in the first half of 2026, and the company decided to speed up the expansion by developing new product categories.
- Three people it will look for
- Shelf-stable convenience food product planning and R&D staff — new non-refrigerated categories such as soups, stews, sauces and noodles must keep being developed
- Online channel sales and e-commerce operations lead — online is driving shelf-stable growth, so more channel operations capability is needed
- Overseas production and supply chain manager — a flow must be built to send the added US plant output to Europe through the Dutch subsidiary
- For HR
- Shelf-stable convenience food planners and overseas supply chain staff are also sought by other large food companies and convenience food specialists. With the shelf-stable expansion and European supply just starting, now is the time to secure key people first.
- For job seekers
- Experience planning shelf-stable convenience foods or sauce and noodle products, and experience running production and logistics for an overseas subsidiary, are what this company values most right now.
