Hermès Korea — a luxury house still investing in experience after passing KRW 1 trillion in sales
- Where it stands now
- Mature growth — widening customer experience and cultural programmes in Korea, now a large market
Sales in 2025 were KRW 1.125 trillion, up 16.7% from the previous year and above KRW 1 trillion for the first time, and operating profit rose 14.6% to KRW 305.5 billion (as reported from the audit report).
In its cumulative results to the end of September 2026, the Hermès group said Asia excluding Japan grew 2% (at constant exchange rates), supported in particular by solid results in Korea.
According to Korea's National Pension Service public workplace data, the company had 503 people on the pension register in August 2026, 12 (2.4%) more than in October 2025. Over that period 101 people joined and 86 left.
- Three decisions within a year
- Experiential exhibition at DDP: in June 2026, at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, it held 'Mystery at the Grooms', built around the idea of searching for a horse that has vanished from the stables, as a free exhibition by advance reservation. A visit takes about one hour.
- Maison Hermès Dosan window exhibition: artist Lee Dong-hoon's 'A Journey Out the Window' sets out this year's theme, 'Venture Beyond', across five shop windows, running until November 15, 2026.
- Changes in the group's collections: on October 22, 2026 it announced that in January 2027 it will present the first men's ready-to-wear collection by Grace Wales Bonner and couture by Nadège Vanhée.
- Three people it will look for
- Client advisor (sales specialist) — must build long-lasting customer relationships in a Korean market that has passed KRW 1 trillion in sales
- Retail events and cultural programme planner — must keep creating experiences outside the store, like the DDP exhibition and the Dosan windows
- Men's ready-to-wear and VM specialist — must present the new men's ready-to-wear and couture properly in store from January 2027
- For HR
- Sales specialists and VM staff overlap with other high-end luxury houses in the same department store luxury halls. It is best to have sales and VM staff in place before the new men's ready-to-wear arrives in January 2027.
- For job seekers
- Long experience looking after VIP clients at a high-end luxury store, or men's ready-to-wear sales and VM experience, is worth the most at this company right now.
