Shinsegae International — handing over its living business to concentrate on cosmetics and imported fashion
- Where it stands now
- Recovery after restructuring — regaining profit through cosmetics and imported fashion after transferring JAJU
Cosmetics revenue in 2025 was a record KRW 455.0 billion (+9.7%).
In the second quarter of 2026 revenue was KRW 291.6 billion (+15.1%) and operating profit KRW 7.0 billion, a return to profit. Cosmetics revenue of KRW 129.5 billion was a quarterly record, and imported fashion grew 31.8%.
- Three decisions within a year
- JAJU transfer: the household goods business JAJU was handed over to Shinsegae Casa, with the transfer effective January 1, 2026.
- Overseas expansion of its own cosmetics: AMUSE, acquired in 2024, has entered 24 countries, and its global revenue more than doubled in 2025.
- Imported fashion portfolio: second-quarter revenue from newly introduced brands nearly doubled, and domestic fashion is being reorganized around growing brands.
- Three people it will look for
- Overseas cosmetics sales and channel manager — with AMUSE in 24 countries, someone is needed to handle distribution partners and local marketing country by country
- Imported brand buyer and brand manager — new imported brands are driving revenue, so people experienced in finding and running brands are needed
- Domestic fashion brand restructuring leader — the lineup has to be rebuilt around growing brands
- For HR
- Overseas cosmetics sales talent is sought by large cosmetics companies and indie beauty brands, and imported brand buyers by other major fashion companies. With cosmetics posting a quarterly revenue record, now is the right time to fill overseas sales first.
- For job seekers
- Experience expanding a K-beauty brand's overseas distribution, or introducing and running overseas luxury and contemporary brands, is worth the most at this company right now.
